Not Alone

Fostering Love, Hope, and Resources

About Us
Welcome to Not Alone.
Fostering Love, Hope, and Resources in Marshall County, Alabama.

Entering foster care is a scary and confusing time for children and a hard labor of love for foster parents and DHR social workers. We exist to show you are Not Alone.

We are a community-powered organization dedicated to providing support for children, foster families, and social workers navigating the foster care system.

Our Mission:

Reducing Trauma for Children: We provide age-appropriate comfort and essential items to help children feel safe and secure in their new placements.

Empowering Foster Families: We offer resources and material support to foster families, so they can focus on creating a loving and nurturing environment for the children they welcome.

Supporting Social Workers: Social workers face many challenges. We offer resources and tools to help them serve children and families.

Our Heartbeat:

It takes a community!
We are a network of volunteers, donors, and supporters who believe that every child deserves a safe and loving place to call home. Whether you donate resources, volunteer your time, or simply share our story, you play a vital role in making a difference for children in foster care. Together, we can build a stronger support system and ensure that no child feels alone on their foster care journey.

Foster Children

Not Alone wants to make a hard day better. We will provide items age and size specific to the child to aid in their transition into foster care.

Foster Families

We offer resources for foster parents to navigate the challenges and rewards of fostering.

Social Workers

Not Alone uplifts social workers showing our deep appreciation for the unwavering care they bring to our community's children.

Standing in the gap...

Children entering foster care often face a whirlwind of emotions and uncertainty. By standing in the gap, our community can become a source of comfort and stability. We can ease the transition by providing essential items, supporting foster families and lightening the load for social workers. Together, we can show these vulnerable children they are Not Alone, and help them build a brighter future.

The Social Worker...

Social workers are the backbone of the foster care system, dedicating themselves to the well-being of children in unimaginable circumstances. Not Alone recognizes the immense pressure and exhaustion social workers face. We're here to remind social workers of the incredible impact they make every day and offer them the support they deserve.

The need...

The need for Not Alone hits close to home. In our community, children enter foster care far too often. This can be a traumatic experience, leaving them feeling scared and isolated. Not Alone exists to bridge that gap. We provide essential items, offer support for foster families, and empower social workers. Filling each area of need reminds each person they are Not Alone.

Foster and Kinship Families...

Our community's children in foster care deserve a safe and nurturing start, but sometimes resources fall short. By supplying resources for foster and kinship placements, we can empower families to open their hearts and homes. This support system allows children to feel secure and focus on healing, while social workers can better advocate for their needs. It's a community effort to ensure every child, no matter their background, has a chance to thrive.
Our Plan
Not Alone is in the process of securing 501c3 status. Opportunities to volunteer and provide resources are coming soon! Please contact us with questions and volunteer inquiries.

Our End Goal:

We never want to limit what could be done by our community. Instead, we're choosing to ask "What if?"

What if our community had a home for children to stop by when they enter foster care?

What if this home provides a few outfits, hygiene items, comfort items and shoes upon entry?

What if this home provides duffel bags instead of trash bags for their belongings?

What if this home provides this child with dignity, respect, and security?

What if this home tells that child they are "Not Alone" on this hard day?

What if?
